ID Badge Services Now Offered by Appointment Only

Dear NIH local community (NIH Main, Bethesda and Rockville campuses)

Effective immediately, the Division of Personnel Security & Access Control (DPSAC), the office that issues ID badges, initiates background investigations and grants facility access, will see its customers by appointment only. There will no longer be same-day service. Wednesday evening service will still be available from 5-8 pm, but by appointment only.

This change is taking place to facilitate the new enrollment and badge issuance systems, which require two 20-minute appointments in DPSAC to complete the process for a new HHS ID Badge. Feel free to visit our website at http://www.idbadge.nih.gov for more information on how this affects employees, contractors and affiliates (fellows, guest researchers and special volunteers).

You will be notified via e-mail when it is time for you to schedule an appointment. This notification will contain instructions on how to schedule your appointment.

Individuals with lost, stolen or broken badges should still come immediately to the DPSAC office in Building 31, Room B1A26. Lost or stolen badges should also be reported to your Administrative Officer immediately.

If you have any questions, please contact ORSPersonnelSecurity@mail.nih.gov.

Special Note: If you do not work in the Bethesda Main campus, Bethesda off-campus or Rockville campus areas, please contact your local security office with any questions.

Sincerely,
Office of Research Services
Division of Personnel Security & Access Control
