N​ormal Weekday Campus Access - Monday through Friday:

Rockville Pike at Wilson Drive: Employees Only

  • 5AM to 7PM - Inbound and Outbound Traffic

Rockville Pike at South Drive (Metro): Employees Only

  • Open 24 hours - Inbound and Outbound traffic

Rockville Pike at Center Drive: Employees Only

  • 6 AM to 7 PM - Inbound and Outbound traffic

Rockville Pike at North Drive : Employees Only

  • ​6 AM to 10 AM - Inbound and Outbound traffic
  • 10 AM to 3 PM - CLOSED
  • 3 PM to 7 PM - Outbound traffic only

Rockville Pike at NIH Gateway Drive: Visitors Only

  • 5am to 10pm - Vehicle Inspection
  • 6am to 9pm - Parking Inbound
  • 6am to 11pm - Parking Outbound
  • After 10pm on weekdays, all day weekends and holidays, visitors in vehicles should enter via the CVIF
  • 11pm to 5am - CLOSED​​

Old Georgetown Road at Lincoln Drive: Employees Only

  • 6 AM to 7 PM - Inbound and Outbound traffic

Old Georgetown Road at South Drive: Employees Only

  • 3 PM to 7 PM - Outbound traffic only

Old Georgetown Road at Center Drive : Employees Only

  • 5 AM to 9 PM - Monday through Friday - Inbound and Outbound traffic
  • 6 AM to 4 PM - Saturday and Sunday - Inbound and Outbound traffic

Cedar Lane at West Drive: Patients and Patient Visitors Only

  • This entrance is for inbound traffic only
  • Clinical Center Hospitality staff will assist patients at the entrance
  • 7AM to 7 PM - Monday through Friday

Commercial Vehicle Inspection Facility (CVIF): Commercial/Visitor Vehicles Only

  • Building 67: Rockville Pike - between North Dr. and Wilson Dr.
  • Open 24 hours - Inbound traffic only
  • After 10pm on weekdays, all day weekends and holidays, all visitors in vehicles or as pedestrians should enter via the CVIF

Pedestrian Entrances: 

Stand-alone Pedestrian portals: Employees Only

  • Open 24 hours a day

NIH Gateway Center at Metro: Employees and Visitors

  • Open Monday – Friday, 6am – 10pm
  • Closed on Weekends and Observed Holidays
  • After 10pm on weekdays, all day weekends and holidays, pedestrian visitors should enter campus via the Commercial Vehicle Inspection Facility (CVIF) - Building 67 (on Rockville Pike between North Drive and Wilson Drive)

West Gateway Visitor Center: Employees and Visitors (Near Old Georgetown Rd at South Drive)

  • Open 6AM to 12PM

Employee Turnstiles at Vehicle Entrances

  • Open During Vehicle Hours Of Operation
