Join NIH staff to grow virtual veggies, fruits, and grains from around the world by recording health activities to kick off spring. All NIH staff and family members 18+ can participate.

Virtual Grocery Store Tour

The grocery store can be overwhelming when trying to make healthy choices. Join us on a virtual grocery store tour to understand how to effectively shop the grocery store. ​Learn how to prepare ahead, understand food labels, and shop in-season to maximize freshness. Bring tips home to your family:

        "Spring into Wellness" Campaign

        Spring into Wellness is OHR and ORS’ annual joint campaign highlighting resources and events designed to enhance your personal and professional well-being. 

        • Aollection of well-being activities and resources that run from April through the end of June. 
        • Events and resources center around the five tenets of well-being: Community, Physical, Career, Social and Financial. 
        • Visit the Schedule of Events to participate in upcoming Spring into Wellness resources.

        April is Financial Literacy Month

        OHR Retirement and Employee Benefits Branch is hosting a Virtual Financial Fitness Fair. 

        • Topics include Social Security and Medicare, Estate Planning, Health Savings Accounts, Public Service Loan Forgiveness and the Thift Savings Plan.

        May is Mental Health Awareness Month

        Stress Reduction Techniques: Relax, Get Centered and Improve Your Mindset

        Join NIH panel members for “Stress Reduction Techniques: Relax, Get Centered and Improve Your Mindset." The goal of this session is to help you unlock key tools to stress management through exploring how we prevent stress from negatively impacting our communication, when to seek help and how Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction techniques can calm the mind and re-center the body. This session will be a lecture and experiential format so please be prepared to participate and enjoy some time to unwind!

        National Heart Lung and Blood Institute

        U.S. Surgeon General Promotes Walking and Walkable Communities. 

        The “Take the Stairs” campaign is the NIH response to the U.S. Surgeon General’s 2015 “Call to Action to Promote Walking and Walkable Communities,” with worksites as a key sector for implementation. In support of the project, U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Jerome Adams came to visit NIH.

        In support of the "Take the Stairs" campaign at NIH. Fogarty International Center Director Dr.Roger Glass and Deputy Director Dr.Peter Kilmarx posted signs encouraging NIH employees.
