2020 Work and Family Month Calendar of Events

As Dr. Collins mentioned last week, October is Work and Family Month. Our 2020 Calendar of Events ( is your one stop guide for this exciting month of events, resources and information.

We want to highlight the over 10 live webinars available throughout the month for your participation and viewing. Each one is on the calendar and has a registration link below to direct you how to access that particular webinar. The first two webinars of the Work and Family Month series are described below. Generations at Work – Wednesday, October 7 – 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Registration link: Explore strategies for overcoming potential challenges while working together and preparing for the future of teams in the workplace. We will discuss the five generations currently in the workplace, addressing and sharing strategies to effectively work with a diverse workforce.

Supporting Single Parents and Caregivers during the Pandemic – Wednesday, October 14 – 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The pandemic is tough on all families. But for single parents, having to suddenly manage children when schools and playgrounds are closed, and when caregivers can no longer come to work, can be especially overwhelming. Join us as we address challenges, stressors, and offer strategies for resilience, managing caregiving, self-care, and work-life balance.

Additional highlighted resources included on the calendar are the NIH Workforce Resource Eligibility Matrix, NIH Transhare, Understanding Your Pay, Leave and Benefits, Free Flu Clinics, HERE TO LISTEN Staff Support Line, free Virtual "Fitness for You" classes, and the Child and Family Programs.
