Feds Feed Families Virtual Food Drive
When: June 25, 11:30AM to 12:00PM
Please join NIH for a Feds Feed Families "Virtual Food Drive" event on Thursday, June 25. Learn more about the issue of hunger in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, particularly during the current COVID-19 pandemic.
Katherine Donnelly, Nutrition Education Specialist from the Capital Area Food Bank, will provide an overview of the extent of food insecurity in our region and describe which populations are particularly impacted. She will explain how local organizations are meeting needs during this uniquely challenging time. At the conclusion of the webinar, the Feds Feed Families chairperson at NIH, Tim Tosten, Associate Director for Program and Employee Services in the Office of Research Services, will describe how NIH staff can help fight hunger through the Feds Feed Families campaign.
This year's campaign began June 1 and will conclude on July 31. You can donate online to any food bank or food pantry of your choosing, and there are several ways you can give, from ordering groceries online to be delivered directly to your preferred organization, to making a donation through the special Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) solicitation period (through June 30). For more information on how to donate, visit the campaign website:
Captioning and sign language interpretation will be available for this online event.
