NIH to Offer Emotional Wellness Screenings in Honor of World Suicide Prevention Awareness Week
Unfortunately, suicide impacts all of us. Every year, millions of Americans are directly affected by the more than 41,000 suicides and hundreds of thousands of suicide attempts made by friends or loved ones. Yet, suicide is often preventable. The NIH is committed to providing a workplace that provides outreach to employees and mobilizes efforts to prevent suicide.
In honor of World Suicide Prevention Awareness Week, beginning on September 9, 2019, the NIH Employee Assistance Program (EAP) will offer Emotional Wellness Screenings on Thursday, September 12.
Emotional Wellness Screenings:
Date: Thursday, September 12.
Time: 10 am – 2 pm. No Appointment Necessary.
Location: EAP Office, Building 31, Room B2B57.
The screenings are free and confidential and you don't need an appointment. They are conducted by licensed mental health professionals, who consult with participants and answer any questions they might have about suicide or other mental health concerns. Alternatively, you may schedule an appointment with an EAP professional to receive the same screening and counseling by calling 301-496-3164.
