Happy New Year! Start the year off by becoming a healthier version of you.  The Office of Research Services (ORS), Recreation and Welfare Association (R&W) Fitness Program, and Eurest Dining Services invite all NIH staff to participate in the "New Year! New You! Fitness and Wellbeing Challenge."
This exciting eight week challenge will begin on Monday, January 23, and culminate on Monday, March 20. Participants can choose to compete as individuals or in teams of four. Competitors will earn points by engaging in physical activities and attending wellness events. At the end of the challenge, the top individual point earner and the top team will be selected as the winners.
Participants can earn points by doing the following:
1. Take a fitness assessment at a NIH Fitness Center. Call 301-496-8746 to schedule an appointment.
2. Enter your physical activity and nutrition information into the USDA's SuperTracker at:  
3. Participate in specific wellbeing activities, such as webinars, American Heart Month events, and Eurest Marketplace/Cafe Wellness tours.
4. Attend the ORS and R&W free monthly Fitness for You classes.
Registration begins Wednesday, January 11, and ends on Thursday, January 19.  Here's how to register:
– Team sign-up (teams of four only) – Contact Shuntrice Holloman at and provide your (1) team name and (2) name and e-mail address of each team member.
– Individual sign-up – Contact Kevin Nunez at and provide your name and e-mail address.
