Underground Utility Work Continues Near Clinical Research Center Through September 30

The Office of Research Facilities completed the first two phases of underground utility work for the Clinical Research Center (CRC). This extensive construction project continues on Monday, August 31 with phases 3 – 6 closing individual lanes on Center Drive, Convent Drive, and the CRC "Access Road" at various times. These phases, between Center Drive and the CRC north entrance, are scheduled for completion at the end of September. Further notifications will be sent for later phases of work.

Only individual lanes will close with vehicle and pedestrian detours around the construction zone. Center Drive, Convent Drive and the CRC "Access Road" will remain open during construction. Access will also be maintained to the Northwest Child Care Center. Access to Old Georgetown Road from Center Drive and Convent Drive will also continue during scheduled hours of operation. Employees are still encouraged to take alternate east-west routes to the south of Building 10 to avoid traffic congestion.

During all phases of construction, cones, barrels and fencing will encompass the construction site. Detour signs and flagpersons will direct traffic and temporary sidewalks will be constructed around the work zone.
