Utility Construction to Modify Traffic Patterns on Center Drive near Wilson Drive Beginning Monday, December 21
Beginning Monday, December 21, 2020 and continuing through approximately February 18, 2021, the NIH will begin utility infrastructure upgrades under Center Drive, near the intersection of Wilson Drive (in front of Building 2), to replace aging underground steam and condensate pipes.
Although one lane will be closed during active construction, at no time will Center Drive be closed entirely to traffic.
For a map detailing the location of construction, please visit: https://go.usa.gov/xA4qV.
- Hours of construction are weekdays from 6am – 2:30pm.
- During off hours, both lanes of traffic will be open.
- Cones, flagpersons and detour signage will be posted to help direct traffic and pedestrians around the construction zone.
The Office of Research Facilities appreciates your patience and understanding as they complete this important upgrade to NIH utilities. Once complete, this project will ensure the reliability of heating systems for the surrounding campus buildings supplied via these steam lines.
