The NIH Library is conducting a usability study of its
website (http://nihlibrary.nih.gov) and
would like your feedback. You can provide feedback in two ways: a card sorting
exercise or a contextual phone interview. Both methods are described at the end
of this e-mail. The study will be conducted between December 15 and January
16, and sessions can be scheduled around your availability. The card sorting
sessions will be held in-person at the NIH Library or online using a card
sorting tool. The in-person sessions will take about two hours. The online
sessions can be done from your computer at your own pace. The contextual interviews will be conducted by phone and
a remote session on your computer and will take about 90 minutes. Please contact MaShana Davis at mashana.davis@nih.gov if you would like
to participate using either method or if you have any questions about the
study. Methods:Card sorting is a method used to help design or evaluate
the information architecture of a website. During the session, participants
organize topics into categories that make sense to them. In a contextual interview, the user is observed as they
use the website. To get a better understanding of what the user is thinking or
doing, questions may be asked as the user navigates the website. Sign language interpreters and other reasonable
accommodations can be provided. If you require such accommodations, please
contact the NIH Library Information Desk at 301.496.1080 five business days in
advance. For TDD users/callers, please call the above number through the
Federal Relay Service at 1.800.877.8339. The NIH Library301.496.1080nihlibrary@nih.gov________________________________Amazing Research.
