11th Annual NIH Take a Hike Day - June 7

11th Annual NIH Take a Hike Day.

Thursday, June 7, 2018.

11:30 AM – 1:30 PM ET.

NIH Bethesda Campus – in front of Building 1 – and select Off-Campus Locations.

Walk! Run! Fun! Join us for the 11th Annual NIH Take a Hike Day. All NIH staff are invited to walk or run around the perimeter of the NIH campus (approximately 3.25 miles) – rain or shine. Take a Hike Day is the NIH's largest wellness event with over 15,500 participants in its history. Take this opportunity to include physical activity in your day and have fun while doing it!

Registration is now open. In addition to the main campus, there will be Take a Hike Day activities held at various off campus locations: Executive Plaza, Fishers Lane, Rockledge, and Shady Grove. For additional information and to register, please visit:

We encourage all NIH staff to participate and request that you obtain your supervisor's approval before registering. Take a Hike Day is a voluntary event. Remember to bring your badge to get back on campus at the conclusion of the walk/run.

Show your team spirit and sponsor a water station for thirsty walkers and runners! Tables and water will be supplied – as long as you provide the volunteers. If you would like to sponsor a water station and show your office spirit, please contact Ms. Shuntrice Holloman at or 301-827-3251. Tables will be assigned on a first come, first served basis.

This event is sponsored by the NIH Office of Management, Office of Research Services (ORS), Division of Amenities and Transportation Services (DATS).

Individuals with disabilities who need sign language interpreting and/or other reasonable accommodations to participate in this event should contact Ms. Linda Kiefer, ORS, DATS, at, 301-827-3252, and/or the Federal Relay (1-800-877-8339). Requests should be made at least five days in advance of the event.
