Parking and Transportation Impact during NIH Research Festival
The 2018 NIH Research Festival will be held on the Bethesda campus in and around the NIH Clinical Center (Building 10) from September 12-14, 2018. The Festival is an annual event showcasing the wide-ranging activities of the NIH Intramural Research Program (see the full agenda at: https://researchfestival.nih.gov). This event will impact parking as well as vehicular and pedestrian traffic on campus.
Parking will be impacted by the volume of visitors and festival activities. The tent show will be held again this year in Parking Lot 10H near the south entrance of Building 10. To prepare for the event and its duration, the lot will be closed starting Friday, September 7, beginning at 5pm through Sunday, September 16.
Entering and exiting campus by car could be slower than usual due to the high volume of visitors attempting to enter and leave campus at approximately the same time over several days.
Additionally, there will be an increase in the number of pedestrians and bicyclists around Building 10 and throughout the campus. Motorists must exercise extra caution when traveling on NIH roads. Please remember to share the roadways, and safety starts with you.
