Update on the Center Drive/Rockville Pike Reduced Access from April 4 – April 20 for Construction
The NIH is currently replacing vehicle barriers at the Center Drive entrance off of Rockville Pike (MD355) that began on Monday, March 5, 2018 and is on schedule to be completed April 20, 2018.
In Phase 2, Center Drive - is now - available for inbound traffic in the morning and updated to accommodate outbound traffic in the afternoon.
PHASE 2 – 4/4/18 – 4/20/18:
*6am – 2pm: Inbound Traffic Only (using inbounds lanes).
*2pm – 7pm: Outbound Traffic Only (using inbound lanes).
No commercial trucks allowed to exit from this location. Police will place cones and direct traffic during peak hours.

Signage and cones will direct traffic entering and exiting Center Drive in advance of and during the construction. During this time, bicyclists and pedestrians should exercise caution when using the pathway in this area. Stay on the identified pathway at all times and look for any construction debris that may create a hazard (i.e. gravel, dirt, etc.).
While Center Drive is under construction, motorists are encouraged to consider using any of the other three entrances to campus located along Rockville Pike including Wilson Drive, South Drive and North Drive. Please visit the campus map for hours of operation at:
