Since August, 2004, all Federal agencies have been working toward the implementation of a  Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process of common credentialing and standardized background investigations required by HSPD-12.

Because this initiative affects nearly 40,000 employees, contractors and affiliates at the NIH, it is important that every person being issued the HHS ID Badge (PIV Card), including those with  defined administrative functions for carrying out the PIV process, have easy access to training materials that clarify their roles and responsibilities.

This section contains definitions, tutorials and specialized training aids to assist both ID Badge Applicants and those in PIV Administrator positions including  Sponsors, Registrars, Issuers, Remote Issuers and Applicant Representatives.
