Immunization requirements for healthcare workers at NIH include:
Evidence of immunity to Hepatitis B: documentation of receipt of the 3-dose immunization series or a positive Hepatitis B antibody titer.
Evidence of immunity to measles: documentation of receipt of 2 doses of MMR vaccine or a positive rubeola antibody titer.
Evidence of immunity to chicken pox: physician-documented history of the disease, positive varicella antibody titer, or documented receipt of two doses of the varicella vaccine.
Receipt of the current influenza vaccine.
Documentation of receipt of one dose of Tdap immunization as an adult.
Healthcare workers at NIH are required to have a TB screen at time of hire (either a TB skin test or an IGRA blood test, depending on prior screening and medical history).
Annual TB skin tests are optional, but not required, for the majority of healthcare workers. Only those who work in certified high TB risk areas (including ICUs, Respiratory Therapy, and Bronchoscopy) must have a TB skin test completed annually.
