Montrose Park & Ride Lot

The NIH leases 100 parking spaces at the Montrose Park and Ride lot in Rockville, MD.  This commuter parking area is used for the convenience of employees and summer students, as well as helping to reduce traffic congestion around the NIH Bethesda campus.  NIH employees working at off-campus facilities with no shuttle service can park at this satellite lot and catch the NIH Shuttle to campus.

The Montrose Parking Lot is located at Montrose Road and Towne Road.  The parking spaces are located in a lot just north of Montrose Parkway.  The designated area will be marked with signage by Montgomery County, "North Bethesda Permits Only;" however, Montgomery County Police will recognize and honor NIH Parking Permits.

To park at this commuter lot, NIH employees must display an "NIH Parking Permit" (the one that hangs from the rearview mirror) or a Summer Student Parking Permit.  There is no fee to park at the Montrose Commuter Satellite Lot; however, failure to display a proper permit will result in a ticket being issued by Montgomery County Police.  If a ticket is received, the only recourse will be to follow the instructions listed on the citation.
